Flight Sim X-Plane 12 released - Demo Available

Microsoft Flight Simulator may be the oldest (the series is about to turn 40!), but flight sim competitor X-Plane has also been at it for decades. And yesterday a new version - X-Plane 12 - was released as early access. So it's an early version that's still in development that's been released, and you have to be aware that mods and third-party stuff might not work. But X-Plane 11 is included as a backup, if that's any consolation. New in version 12 are, among other things, new planes, weath

As the climate warms, it threatens the Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica. In a study published Monday in the journal Nature Geoscience, scientists mapped the glacier’s historical retreat to learn about the glacier’s past and what it is likely to do in the future, writes CNN. Can quickly withdraw The research shows that Thwaites can retreat quickly, once the glacier breaks free from a seafloor ridge that helps hold it in place. “Thwaites is really hanging on and we should expect to se

Two Point Campus has reached 1 million players after only 2 weeks

Sega announces that their comic campus simulator Two Point Campus has now reached 1 million players after only two weeks. Which means it even beats its predecessor Two Point Hospital. Mark Webley at Two Point Studios proudly says this about the game: "We had big shoes to fill following the success of Two Point Hospital, so it feels particularly sweet to hit one million players even faster than before" "And this is just the beginning, just as we did with Hospital, we'll be continuously suppo

How much did the first season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" cost?

Not many productions are known for being “the world’s most expensive TV series ever”… but how much has Prime Video spent per episode? After the first two episodes of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” have now officially been released, viewers have finally had a chance to take part in a series that most people at least seem to think looks very lavish. And anything else would be very strange, considering that the series is, after all, the most expensive television series ever create

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" has a problem with trolls

Angry "fans" who bomb the ratings of the new series are forcing Amazon to take drastic measures. The newly released fantasy series "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" has a problem with goblins… and not the big angry kind that live in dark mines (although we can't be entirely sure). A crowd of self-proclaimed Tolkien fans, who from the very beginning decided to criticize everything from the skin colors of the actors to the first promo pictures, are trying to bomb the ratings of th

Twitter begins testing post editing

The ability to edit Twitter posts has long been the most requested feature. At the beginning of April this year, Twitter finally confirmed that they are working on an editing feature. The developer has now started testing the editing of posts internally and the function will be sent out to regular users later in September. Here's how it works: users can edit posts for up to half an hour after publication, for example to correct typos or add hashtags. Edited posts will be marked w

Winnie the Pooh and Piglet slaughter in the trailer for "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey"

The beloved books about Winnie the Pooh and his friends recently became public domain, which means that anyone can use them freely. Filmmaker Rhys Waterfield (who produced C-movies such as "Dinosaur Hotel", "Wrath of Van Helsing" and "Crocodile Vengeance") makes his directorial debut with the film, which is said to be a mixture of absurdity and real terror. In the trailer, it is revealed that Christopher Robin abandoned Winnie the Pooh and Piglet to go to college, only to find themselv

Assassin's Creed Mirage, formerly Rift, is said to be ready for release this spring

Rumors of a smaller, more traditional (a.k.a. more stealth, less action RPG) Assassin's Creed have been rife for a while, and we're allegedly set in Baghdad. The rumor mill picks up speed when Youtube profile j0nathan claims that the game we previously knew as Rift will be called Assassin's Creed Mirage. The release for the game, which "goes back to the origin", is due sometime this spring. Rumors are always rumors and should be taken at face value, but they are persistent in this case. The

Victoria 3 will be released in October

We have to wait longer for some sequels than others. In a press release, Paradox reveals that Victoria 3 will be released on October 25, which means twelve years after the second and nineteen years after Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun. There is time to build up reasonably high requirements during that time. Up to the proof! The grand strategy game takes us from 1836 all the way to 1936. The Victorian era is considered strict, ornate and rule-heavy. Proven breeding ground for successful s

Mutated dinosaurs are the main antagonists in Second Extinction , the fps game where three people fight together in the best Left 4 Dead style for their survival. And the release is approaching - on October 20, the game will be released. This is the second title from Systemic Reaction, one of three developers under the Swedish Avalanche Studios. They debuted in 2019 with the heavily 80s-smelling Generation Zero. Hopefully Second Extinction gets a warmer reception. It's coming to PC and Xbox

Aloy confirmed as main character in Netflix Horizon series

Earlier this year we found out that Sony is working with Netflix on a series based on the Horizon games. We weren't given a lot of information at the time, but gaming journalist Jeff Grubb claimed shortly thereafter that the series was then called Horizon 2074 and is meant to run parallel to the games, rather than being a reinterpretation, sequel, or prequel. We don't know what the situation is with these details, as they are only rumors, but now we have received a small piece of very signi

Oinky trailer of Minecraft Legends released

You probably haven't missed that Minecraft is going to get a spinoff in the likes of action strategy, right? Well, Minecraft Legends was announced in June, and from what little we got to see, it looked like an interesting concept. Now a new trailer has arrived that is as fiery as it is grisly. Pigs invade the overworld and devour everything in their path, and it falls to the player to lead golems and other classic Minecraft creatures in the battle against them. This is not done with the hel

Netflix's Resident Evil series shuts down after one season

Netflix's Resident Evil series has endured a lot of criticism. Most criticism has and to do with it has very little to do with the video game series and is more of a teen drama. The series premiered on July 14th and rushed straight into the top 10, but fell away rather quickly after the criticism. Although the series did not follow the storyline from the games, iconic monsters and characters from the video game series appeared, but in different guises. The most positive criticism was receiv

Cities: Skylines is getting an expansion that focuses on pedestrians

"Was it always this chaotic?" wonders a seagull in the opening moments of the trailer for Cities: Skylines' upcoming expansion. It goes by the name Plazas & Promenades (that is, the expansion, not the seagull), and just as the name suggests, it revolves around places where you can use your legs to get around, rather than a car. There are walking paths, market squares and regular zones as well as streets where cars are simply prohibited. Other news includes street music to increase the h

Park Beyond

With a couple of Might & Magics and Tropico 6 under his belt, Limbic doesn't have a roller-coaster habit, but despite this, there's something obvious about Park Beyond. It feels natural for the Planet Coaster - and Theme Park -experienced to pick up, and in a genre that deals with tricks and tricks, this is a nice plus on the edge.
