The role-playing game Wyrdsong was unveiled with a trailer during yesterday's Gamescom stream. It's an open world RPG with supernatural elements, and the trailer voice hints at an unpleasant experience.

It takes place in a medieval Portugal and is powered by the game engine Unreal Engine 5. But much more than that, the developers have not revealed, not even what platforms it is made for.

But perhaps most interesting is the developer - Something Wicked Games. It was founded by Charles Staples ( Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds ), is led by Jeff Gardiner ( Skyrim, Fallout 3, 4 and 76 ) and has employees with experience from Bethesda, Bioware and Obsidian. In other words, a decent roleplaying track record.

How good Wyrdsong will be is impossible to tell from this short first teaser video. But a game worth keeping an eye on, for sure.
