Dual Universe from Novaquark is approaching release-worthy condition. After eight years of development, it is announced that the game will be released on September 27, and those of you who haven’t caught the beta that has been running for two years will get a chance to feel this sandbox MMO in space.

The game emphasizes that freedom is important, and the players themselves create the content. They can build ships, houses, space stations, and everything in the world can be modified.

On September 22, the servers will be taken down to prepare for the release five days later. Then a trial version is also released so that you can test what it is all about free of charge.

Dual Universe is subscription based. Not very common in today’s MMO context, but it is needed to fund the common server that all players play on. A month costs 10 euros, and if you run a year in one go, the price drops to 7 euros a month. And a trial version is underway.
