The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II (Win) [Support Topic]
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II (Win) The game is the sequel to The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, based on the motifs from J.R.R. Tolkien. The game's plot takes the player to the northern areas of Middle-earth, where Sauron's evil forces fought the forces of good. In principle, the game is divided into two parts: a campaign of good and evil forces. The first part deals with the elves and dwarves fighting against Sauron's forces on Esgaroth and Erebor. In contrast, the second part focuses on collecting army of goblins by Ombudsman Sauron to conquer northern parts of Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II has received positive reviews from critics and is loved by players. There are fifteen different scenarios to go through! In addition, in the second installment of the game, the action also takes place at sea. The excellent combat system, unique music and amazing world make you lose the sense of time playing The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II! Microsoft plans to buy Activision Blizzard for $68 billion
Microsoft has the spending pants on and is not content with having pinched Zenimax and Bethesda. Now they also announce that they intend to buy Activision Blizzard for 68.7 billion dollars. In a post on the Xbox website, they write that the companies will continue to act independently of each other until the deal is completed. Furthermore, they write that they aim to offer as many of Activision Blizzard's games as possible via Game Pass to Xbox and PC, including new and old titles. Activision Blizzard is based in many traditional studios and valuable brands, such as Warcraft, Diablo, Call of Duty and Overwatch, so Game Pass can undoubtedly get a real boost if the deal goes through. In the post, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer also writes that creative success and self-reliance go hand in hand with treating all people with respect, which unfortunately does not seem to have been the motto of Activision Blizzard in recent years. He points out that all teams and leaders are expected to live up to this and that they look forward to spreading Microsoft's corporate culture to the teams at Activision Blizzard. However, everyone's favorite CEO Bobby Kotick is reported to remain in office, at least for the time being.

Twisted Metal 2 (Win)
- 20 downloads
The second in the Twisted Metal series of car combat games, and the last to be developed by SingleTrac, Twisted Metal 2 is considered by most of its fans to be the pinnacle of the series. Combat takes place between a wide array of vehicles ranging from a man strapped between two wheels to an ice cream truck, using an eclectic arrangement of weaponry. The action takes place in 8 different locales around the world, many featuring destructible buildings and landmarks. The plot - the least important element in games of this kind - is simple: you are competing in a worldwide car combat game staged by the a powerful man named Calypso. You pick your vehicle from an array of heavily-modified cars, including a flamethrowing Chevette, a spinning F1, to a dangerous contraption that consists of nothing more than two monster wheels (with you strapped in the middle). You then play through a series of arena throughout the world, picking up weapons and trying to kill other vehicles before you are toast. Like other SingleTrac games (most notably JetMoto), the gameplay in Twisted Metal 2 is very well designed. Each car has its own special move, and the game obeys a logical yet totally unrealistic physics model that allows you to turn on a dime and go flying 100 feet in the air. The weapons in comparison are quite standard: dumbfire and homing missiles, ricochet bombs, mines, napalm, and many more. The environments are also very well-designed. The Paris level, for example, features a destructible Eiffel Tower in addition to several priceless works of art in the Louvre; the Antarctica level collapses piece by piece until one small glacier island is left; the incredibly large Hong Kong level contains a subway (complete with trains coming and going on schedule) and one of the biggest and most difficult bosses you will ever see. There are also a few multiplayer modes to choose from, including a two-player co-operative mode that allows you and a friend to go against computer-controlled teams. With excellent levels, furious action, and unrealistic but fun physics, Twisted Metal 2 is definitely worth a look for anyone who enjoys games like Quarantine, Death Drome, or Rocket Jockey. Two thumbs up, way up!Free -

Twisted Metal (Win)
- 10 downloads
Every year, a mysterious man named Calypso sends e-mails to renowned drivers, inviting them to compete in a tournament called Twisted Metal. The conditions of the tournament are anything but ordinary: opponents fight each other in armored vehicles with mounted weapons. The winner receives an audience with Calypso, and is granted a single wish - a wish without limits, be it money, power, or even our reality itself. In 2005, the annual tournament is held again in Los Angeles, and twelve drivers, each with his own agenda, have come to compete to death. Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat game. The player selects one of the twelve available drivers and takes part in the competition. In the one-player story mode, the player must progress through six combat stages; all the opponents must be destroyed in order to win the race. In the two-player co-op mode, players choose a battlefield and control two cars in an attempt to get rid of the competition. All the vehicles are equipped with two mounted machine guns; though relatively weak, they have unlimited ammunition. Other weapons can be picked up by driving over them during the races. These include fire and homing missiles, land mines, tire spikes, and others. Each participant has a life bar, which can be replenished by entering a specific area on the stage.Free -

Windows 3.1 [Support Topic]
Windows 3.1 Windows 3.x was the first to gain significant development and commercial traction. It combined the 8086, 286, and 386 modes of Windows 2 in to one package. It replaced the MSDOS Executive with a Program Manager and File Manager similar to those in OS/2 1.x. Much of its success was spurred by the availability and success of Microsoft Office. Although Microsoft would have had you believe otherwise, Windows 3.x was the direct foundation for Chicago/Windows 95. Release notes Microsoft Windows 3.1 was an evolution to Windows 3.0 and undoubtably the most popular, poster child version in the Windows 3.x series. Among the changes in Windows 3.1 include a drop of real mode support (see more below), the removal of the Reversi game, updated icons with richer colors, an improved setup process with better hardware detection, and the introduction of batch install. The File Manager was completely revamped and a revamped hypertext help system was introduced. Applications could talk to each other not only through the DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) protocol, also used by OS/2, but also by the new Windows-only OLE protocol which allows for applications to share any type of object more seamlessly. Write, Paintbrush and the new Object Packager have support for this technology which remains with us today in Windows 8. Windows 3.1 also came with support for TrueType fonts which provide more realistic font rendering as they are outline fonts that can scale to any point size. With TrueType users could finally have a good grasp that what was shown on the screen would be what was printed without blocky outlines. TrueType survives today along with its close cousin OpenType. Multimedia support was now fully integrated along with the expandable Control Panel into Windows 3.1. In Windows 3.0 this was provided by a Multimedia PC add-on which usually came with new Multimedia PCs, sound cards and CD-ROM drives of the day. Common supported cards include Adlib and Sound Blaster 16. BETA During development Windows 3.1 was under the development codename Janus and 3 prerelease versions have surfaced, two beta candidates and a release candidate. The final beta was compiled on December 17, 1991 and expects a BIOS date of the 18th or later. Purple was replaced with blue and the boot screen was overhauled to the modern 3.1 variant. Windows 3.2 was a Chinese language specific release. The only difference from 3.1 was additional support for Chinese characters and was released in late 1993. On 386 systems and greater you can run a limited subset of 32-bit Windows applications (mostly those for Windows NT 3.5 and 95) with the Win32s (Win32 subset) patch. SimTower: The Vertical Empire
- 10 downloads
Maxis takes their Sim-building line vertical with SimTower, an original concept from Japan (where vertical living is much more commonplace than in many parts of the world). Your goal is to build a skyscraper that is both tall, aethestically pleasing, popular, and, most importantly, economically profitable. To be successful, your building cannot just be levels upon levels of officespace, or just an apartment sky-rise, but a multi-functional haven for humanity featuring everything from penthouses to theatres, restaurants to shopping malls. The centerpiece of your tower design is your elevators and proper managment is the key. You can watch your Sims enter and leave your grand tower, getting impatient waiting for elevators, or having a hectic work day at the office. You can even train in on one or two, to server as a metering stick for their compatriots, or just to peek into the average workday of the little people living in your building. Or watch the security and resuce crews race as distasters like bomb threats and fires rampage through your well-crafted skyscraper.Free -

SimAnt [Support Topic]
SimAnt SimAnt was released by Maxis and is part of the Sim series. In the nineties, several Sim like games were created, Sim Ant is a ant colony simulator. You have to manage your ants by digging tunnels, find food, protect the queen, expand your territory, fight against many enemies, including the evil red ants ! The conquest of the whole garden and the house will make you victorious. The game was a hit with more than 100,000 copies sold and was released on many platform. SimAnt was included in the SimClassic pack. This was one of the few games that the early pirate groups actively encouraged the "if you like it, buy it!" dogma. When it came out, it actually outsold SimCity and the various cosmetic packs, and there was almost no negativity seen in the reviews published in the plethora of trade rags at the time. Even PC Week gave it an excellent review, and those choads back then were notorious for hating anything that wasn't Lotus 1-2-3.
