Dark Colony wasn’t breaking new grounds with its formulaic mechanics or hackneyed humans vs. aliens plot. These initial clues alone suggest a derivative, mediocre effort that's hardly worth playing. Surprisingly, though, the clues are misleading. While Dark Colony is indeed derivative, a little closer examination reveals enough differences from the standard RTS mold to set it apart as a passable gaming experience.
Dark Colony's premise is simple: while terraforming Mars for colonization, humanity hits a roadblock in the form of bug-eyed, tabloid-style aliens. These aliens (called the Taar) are looking for a few good worlds to call their own, and don't want any pesky humans underfoot. The result, naturally, is full-scale war. While the futuristic setting of Dark Colony suggests a Command & Conquer clone, Dark Colony is modeled very closely on Warcraft II. Like Warcraft II, Dark Colony features a relatively small selection of combat units (only ten per side) for the player to build.
Whether you choose to play the humans or the aliens, a commander appears in every campaign mission. This commander is the only unit that is transferred from one mission to the next. He gains experience as he racks up kills, and thereby increases both his rank and abilities. He can inspire nearby troops to make them fight better, and can occasionally call for reinforcements. When the commander is reduced to dangerously low health, he's beamed away to safety so you needn't worry about losing the mission just because your commander got killed.
Some players will be disappointed with the relative lack of unit variety, both in terms of sheer numbers and in the fact that both sides units are mirror images of one another. This is a definite downside, but on the other hand, it allows the game to be balanced very finely. For better or worse, Dark Colony chooses to stick with Warcraft II's simple elegance and adds only a few legitimate innovations. The formula stays largely intact, save for a radical change of scenery and a few welcome improvements.

Earth is hungry, cold, and cramped; its peoples need food, energy, and new frontiers. The Pleidans (called the Grays by Earthlings, and familiar to anyone hanging around Roswell 50 years ago), a race which apparently specializes in genetic manipulation, have troubles of their own; genetic experimentation gone awry apparently decimated their culture, and they're struggling to rebound. That was the main (and largely forgettable) premise from the original Dark Colony.
Council Wars, which requires the original Dark Colony to be installed, adds 16 additional missions that once again pits Grays against Earthlings in canned missions. There’s also the regular stuff you’d expect to find in an expansion pack, such as adding new units, new buildings or environments. Novel environments include an alien fortress or Area 51. Also new is a third neutral species that you can capture and use to your own nefarious goals.

Astro Assembler is a space-faring, top-down, vertically-scrolling, shoot-em-up. Pilot your spaceship against insurmountable swarms of enemy ships and asteroid-planted bases. The player's ship's offensive weapons attack on 2 planes: The rapid fire laser is effective against flying targets, while firing also launches missiles at a lower rate of fire that attack ground targets. There is a plethora of powerups to collect that grant such added capabilities as more speed, more powerful lasers and missiles, and higher rate of fire. Be careful, though, because some collectible items are actually powerdowns.
The "Assembler" part of the title refers to sets of specific ship pieces that the player pursues in the game. These components assemble to create a more powerful ship with greater offensive and defensive capabilities.

Once upon a time, deities fought over the continent of Icarus. The benevolent Tetheus has won, and the evil Ercanet was banished. However, things only got worse afterwards, as Ercanet was unable to forgive the humans for supporting Tetheus. He corrupted the souls of people and populated the continent with terrifying beasts, acting through his emissary, the wizard Colias. The Coshark mercenaries tried to oppose Colias, but only one of them, a young man named Dreus, survived. Together with his fiancee Helena, Dreus embarks on a quest to stop the evil and restore peace.
Like many Korean RPGs, Icarus: Sanctuary of the Gods has many elements from Japanese-style RPGs. The narrative is character-driven; various characters join the party over the course of the story, playing their own parts in it. Story advancement is quite linear. The game's visual style is reminiscent of Japanese manga and anime. Combat is turn-based, taking place on large screens, on which the player navigates the characters and assigns commands to them.

After destroying most buildings, debris is released, which you can grab and fling to damage or destroy objects. Pick up powerups around the level to temporarily increase your power.

The game has four gameplay modes: Survival Mode, Deathmatch, Assault and Conquest. All modes can be played online or in single player mode against bots. When playing survival mode you must stay alive as long as possible. After each stage is cleared you will travel to the next one. In The Flintstones: Bedrock Bowling, Fred Flintstone is toiling away as usual at his thankless construction job. When it's quitting time, his boss threatens him with summary termination if he does not finish his trench-digging assignment by the next morning. The biggest dilemma for Fred is that he needs to practice for an upcoming bowling tournament. The benevolent alien named The Great Gazoo materializes and solves the problem by digging a trench and lining it with giant bowling pins. He then gives Fred a large bowling ball half shell in which to play live action bowling.
The action in Bedrock Bowling takes the form of steering the bowling shell down 8 different lanes. Each lane has 10 pins that the player must try to hit. Additionally, there are many diamonds, birds, and other powerups along the way to be collected for points.
The 8 lanes are Gravel Factory, Quarry, Flooded, Tar, Freeway, Crystal Mine, Lava, and Rockzilla.

In CSI: NY - The Game, the players plays alternately as detectives Mac Taylor and Stella Bonasera as they solve original murder cases written by the television show writers. The player will meet the coroner and all of the lab techs who star in the show, featuring the real-life actors and actresses voices for all of the characters in the game.
This newest entry in the CSI series is a hidden-object game with additional features similar to traditional adventure games. The player must search the crime scene for evidence and pick up the required objects. The evidence is then examined and analysed back at the lab with a "mini-game" type interface using various instruments and tools of the trade. The player interrogates suspects and witnesses by clicking through a list of questions in a dialogue tree. The game features a hint system to keep the player on track.
Graphic scenes are 2D stills with hot spots where evidence is located. The game features a point-and-click interface and music from the television show.
The game shipped with 4 cases with the promise of a 5th to be available in early 2009.

Maze Wars is a decent 3D maze game that is by no means revolutionary, but deserves mention as one of the first 3D maze mouse-driven games that I quite like 😉 The objective is simple: find the exit to the maze, while shooting monsters who get in your way. The game is timed, making it quite challenging on higher levels (especially beyond level 3). The game includes 11 levels in total, although they are all very similar except for maze size and the number of monsters (which all appear as floating polygons). One nice feature of the game is that it allows you to change the colors of everything: monsters, walls, floor etc. One gripe I have with the game is that the controls take some getting used to: instead of using mouse buttons for firing weapons, the game instead forces you to press them for movement (left = forward and right = backward). You need to press both mouse buttons at once to shoot -- a quirk I found quite annoying at first, but it didn't take long to get used to. The animations are quite smooth, and the action fast and furious.
Overall, recommended for fans of maze games who want more challenge than typical maze games. Make sure you use a slowdown program to run this one, though.

The original Kick Off was expanded on in many ways for this sequel. The game now features full tournament modes (although the players on the teams are fictitious) and four different pitches (including an implementation of plastic pitches, whose uneven bounce cause controversy when several British clubs tried them in the 1980s).
Viewed top-down, the controls involve trapping the ball under your foot, giving you time to prepare passes. Running with the ball is tricky at first, as it doesn't stick to your foot the way it did in contemporary football games. Complex moves such as overhead kicks, back-heels and long-range through-ball passes can be completed with practice.

Mario is a legendary game whose history dates back to 1981, when the character of Mario has been introduced in another famous game - Donkey Kong. Mario has become quite a popular and so Nintendo made many games dedicated just to him. The first came immediately in 1983, but the most famous game about Mario is named: Mario Super Mario Bros. (In the game you can also play for Mario's brother - Luigi). The storyline is absolutely the greatest classics: evil Bowser has kidnapped the princess and now it's up to Mario and Luigi to save her. Mario need no introduction, he is very well-known by the smallest ones even nowadays, so only in short: Mario is a small guy, but he grow in height, when he eats one kind of Mushroom. On his route to save the princess, he will come across carnivorous flowers, strange creatures, and turtles. You have to try to kill, but sometimes you need to use them to your advantage: for example, to move further, you have to skillfully jump and stand on a turtle. The game is also known for its bonus levels, where you can get entering green tubes, so you take a shorter way and also get some bonus points. Individual levels are quite diverse (starting in a sort of nature, in the second round underground, then get into the channels, and the like).

ilmarils' first action / adventure game is a great game of exploration and survival that sets the stage for many more survival games to come. As intrepid explorer, buy equipments and tools and head into the wild Yucatan jungles to find the mysterious Mayan fetish.
The side-scrolling view changes to a cool 3D view when you drive the jeep, adding variety to the fun-but-frustratingly-difficult gameplay that combines arcade action with traditional puzzle-solving in the Mayan temples.

Many popular RPGs were inspired by real board games and so was the game Hero Quest. Hero Quest is a combination of RPG and strategy game where you control a total of 4 characters and you always have a limited number of moves that are assigned by random - roll of the dice. You control a total of 4 heroes (barbarian, dwarf, elf and wizard), but you do not have to choose all four. However, a larger number of characters will increase your chances of winning battles. The gameplay is a classic. You go through the various rooms, have to avoid pitfalls, try to equipp your characters with higher quality weapons and fight against different fantasy enemies. The game had great ideas that creators managed to pass from board to the PC gaming world, but the game also contains a number of rather illogical errors, that sometimes make the gameplay worse. For example, your character can not sell and change the weapons between themselfs. Once you take the weapon, you can not lay it down. Despite the many shortcomings that can be found in the game, the game is very entertaining combination of strategy and RPG game format and I recommend it to every RPG fan out there.

Stunts (4D Sports Driving outside of US) is a 3D car racing simulation that puts emphasis on the on racing on stunt tracks. The game contains a variety of cars, courses and opponents to choose from (who represent a difficulty level). The game provides unusual stunt objects including loops, corkscrews and jumps. The former slows down the car and the latter is lethal and the car instantly crashes. It is possible to watch races in instant replay from different camera angles. A track editor is included as well.

A complex game in which you can create your own ecosystems, animals or vegetables, then watch them eat, evolve, mate, or die.
Feel free to create funky animals! How about a giant snail that would have to eat several trees each day to survive - or a small kangaroo that would lay eggs and eat only bugs? You can even edit their DNA code, and make your animals mutate.
