Google Chrome Portable [Support Topic]
Google Chrome Portable View File Chrome is a fast, simple, and secure web browser, built for the modern web. Chrome is designed to be fast in every possible way. It's quick to start up from your desktop, loads web pages in a snap, and runs complex web applications lightning fast. Chrome's browser window is streamlined, clean and simple. For example, you can search and navigate from the same box and arrange tabs however you wish -- quickly and easily. Chrome is designed to keep you safer and more secure on the web with built-in malware and phishing protection, auto-updates to make sure you have all the latest security fixes, and more. Chrome puts you in control of your private information while helping protect the information you share when you're online. There are tons of ways to customize Chrome and make it yours. It's easy to tweak your settings and add apps, extensions, and themes from the Chrome Web Store. Signing in to Chrome brings your bookmarks, history, and other settings to all your computers. It also automatically signs you in to all your favorite Google services. App Notes Passwords Not Saved Between PCs By Default: Google Chrome stores passwords in such a way that they are encrypted in a way tied to current PC. While the passwords are not kept or left behind on the PC itself, they won't be retrievable when you move to a new PC. There is added password portability as an advanced option, though, which you can enable by reading the help.html file. Certificates Not Portable: Google Chrome has no certificate manager. It uses Windows' certificates manager. So, any certificates you install through the Google Chrome interface are stored on the current local machine and will not travel with you. Thus, you should not use any private certificates with Google Chrome except on your own PC. Some Settings/Extensions Locked Per PC: Google Chrome locks specific settings to a given PC. Details are included in this post. This behavior is by design by the Chrome team. If you would like this changed, please file a bug with the Chrome team. A suggested workaround is to sign in to Google to restore all settings and extensions and to use an extension such as Session Buddy to maintain your session state as you move PCs. Note that other portable browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition do not have any of the issues mentioned above. These issues are specific to Chrome due to Chrome's design and not something we can work around without fixes to the base app by the Chrome developers. Siege of Orison FPS Event and New Derelict Coming in Alpha 3.17.2
Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released a new video showcasing content coming in the next update. The video focuses on a derelict that will be placed on the surface of Microtech with the upcoming Alpha 3.17.2 version of the game. Basically, it’s a crashed starship that has been taken over by an NPC faction. The second part of the video is perhaps even more exciting, featuring a look at the area created for the “Siege of Orison” event, which will see players square off against NPC pirates in the floating city of prison. This time around they won’t be able to rely on their ships, as the event is focused on FPS combat on the “ground” (if you can call Orison’s platforms “ground”).

Minecraft founder Markus "Notch" Persson treats himself to a huge dividend
Markus “Notch” Persson has, via Notch Enterprises, made large dividends to himself almost every year in recent years. 2020 was an exception, but last year it was again time for a large dividend of SEK 500 million. Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson has become a billionaire on the gaming phenomenon. Since 2014, however, it is the giant Microsoft that owns the game studio Mojang (which thus developed Minecraft). Exactly what Markus Persson does today we do not know for sure. Pretty soon after the Mojang founders sold their Mojang, "Notch" started a new game studio together with colleague Jakob Porsér , which they call Rubber Brain. That game studio has not had any revenue since the start in 2014. But Notch himself has said on Twitter that a game is being developed. Another interesting "Notch" company is instead Notch Enterprises, which will manage Markus Persson's assets. This is also where we usually find the Minecraft founder's various dividends to himself after the giant deal with Microsoft. The recent annual report shows that Markus Persson last year indulged in a dividend of as much as SEK 500 million. Since the sale of Minecraft, Markus Persson has picked out billions in dividends. The dividend in 2018, for example, was SEK 150 million and in 2019 , “Notch” treated itself to SEK 750 million . In 2020, on the other hand, no dividend appears to have been paid.

Mysterious rocket has hit the moon
Two new craters on the moon puzzle Nasa. Astronomers have mapped how they formed and when, and know that it happened in connection with a rocket crashing on the celestial body. But no one knows whose rocket is. In late 2021, a group of astronomers discovered that a rocket was heading for the moon. The crash itself took place on March 4 this year and now Nasa, with the help of the space probe "Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter", has for the first time published images of the crash. An article published on the US space agency's website describes the extent of the crater - which in fact consists of two such. - It's cool, precisely because it's an unexpected result, says Mark Robinson, professor of geology, who works to produce images from the "Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter", to the New York Times . The eastern crater is about 18 meters in diameter and overlaps the western, which in turn is 16 meters in diameter. No other rocket has caused double craters on the moon, and in total they extend 29 meters in width. NASA compares the size of the craters with those from the Apollo rockets that struck the moon in rounds during the 1970s. The largest pit from there measures 35 meters in width. Who fired the rocket? The question that eludes astronomers now is what kind of spacecraft reached the moon this spring. At present, it is highly unclear and no country has reported the rocket as its own. NASA's theory goes no further than speculating on what may have caused a double crater. The mass of a spacecraft is usually concentrated at the end, where the engine is located. No one currently knows more than that. - It will always be much more fun than if the forecasts for the crater, its depth and its diameter, had been completely certain, says Mark Robinson.

Ron Gilbert stops posting news about Monkey Island after online hate
The graphic design of Return to Monkey Island, the sequel Ron Gilbert has wanted to do since the 1991 Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, has been discussed and criticized. It is okay. The word is free. What probably does not surprise anyone is that some "fans" take it a step further and go to personal attacks, something Ron Gilbert now testifies to. He has already expressed his disappointment that he is being pressured into doing a Monkey Island he does not want to do. So now it has gone a step further. In his blog, Grumpy Gamer, Gilbert says that he turns off the comment fields, as people are "evil", and he has felt compelled to delete comments that have personally attacked him. Gilbert seems to have turned off more than that, as the site is currently down. However, Gilbert writes (or wrote) that he insists that Return to Monkey Island is an "incredible game", and says that it is up to us not to play it, "without ruining it for others" .

Free Overwatch 2 replaces Pay Overwatch in October
There has been some talk. It has been teased, and tassled. But not until now do we have a proper, official confirmation. With the release of Overwatch 2 in October, the original will be phased out and all focus is on the sequel. No more updates, patches or extensions then. The new version will simply replace the original. Players have wondered, especially after a Reddit-AMA created some confusion. But now Blizzard has clarified what will happen: “Overwatch 2 will replace the current Overwatch build”. All player data and all progress will be transferred to the sequel, which is free-to-play unlike the first one. What repercussions this grip will have in the player base remains to be seen. What are your thoughts about this?

The Swedish survival game Raft sails out of early access
Raft is being developed by Swedish Redbeet Interactive and has been in early access since 2018. Now, however, it is over, because it reached version 1.0, with its largest update ever. The update adds above all, the last chapter of the game's plot, and also three new places to visit: Varuna Point, which was a building where the world elite would seek protection, but which was abandoned before construction was completed; Temperance, which is a snow-covered area where the water has not reached; and a third, secret area where we will face the final challenge of the game. The plot has also been fine-tuned to flow better, and now there is also voice acting. In addition, there are new enemies, characters to play as, clothes, trade items and things to build. The game is sold with a 15 percent discount until July 8. CHANGELOG: BUG FIXES:

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival game in Tolkien's world
A sigh went through the gaming world when EA announced The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-Earth last month, mainly because it was a mobile game. But more come from Tolkien's world, and whether it's good or bad that it's survival games we leave unsaid. The game is called The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria , and just as the name suggests, it revolves around a return to the dwarf kingdom of Moria, or Khazad-dûm if you want to be extra intrusive in your nerdiness. Once there, it will be dug, collected, mead drunk and built. During the course of the action, we will discover ancient landmarks, find veins of mithril and put our hands on one or another weapon - possibly one that glows blue when orcs are close. Dangers lurk in the dark, of course, and if you let too much (so if you are a little Tookig ) they can be awakened. Fortunately, you can not only play alone, but with up to seven other players if you want. The development is provided by Free Range Games, which has helped to develop games such as Oddworld: Soulstorm and the upcoming The Callisto Procotol , and has developed Spelldrifter . The game is expected to be released in the spring of 2023 for PC.

Diablo IV seems to be backing away from the "pay to win" mentality in Immortal
During the Xbox show, it was clear that Diablo IV will (if not delayed, that is) be released during the first half of 2023. Exciting, and a little scary considering the criticism that Diablo Immortal is currently receiving. Above all, it is "pay to win" criticism that abounds. Now Blizzard more or less seems to want to say that Diablo IV is not based on the same principles as Immortal. Rod Fergusson, responsible for Diablo, tweets : "To clarify, Diablo IV is a full-price game built for PC, Playstation and Xbox audiences. The game will be built around "voluntary cosmetic gadgets and story-driven expansions", which sounds like something other than Immortal . After Warcraft III: Reforged and Diablo Immortal, for example, confidence in Blizzard is not at its peak. It remains to be seen if Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV can restore it in any way.

Fallout 5 confirmed
Yes, there will be a Fallout 5. Bethesda's strongman Todd Howard confirms to IGN that the story of life after the nuclear disaster will continue. But it will take time. First, of course, Bethesda will get Starfield, and then The Elder Scrolls 6. That game is currently in "pre-production", so it will probably take several years before Skyrim sequel is released. And as another cloud of concern (if it's mainly a new Fallout you want from Bethesda) is that they have some other ideas in stock. This is what Howard says: So long wait. As usual from Bethesda. The latest Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim, was released eleven years ago. Fallout 4 came out in 2015 and the much-loved (uh) multiplayer spin-off Fallout 76 landed in 2018.

The first gameplay from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is here
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be a game again, and Gun Interactive and Sumo Digital aim to be truly faithful to the model. We got to see samples of that last month, when they showed some scenes from the game and the movie side by side, and they had really managed to capture the details. Now it's time to show off some gameplay from the game, and the terrifying experience of being in the Sawyer family's house is also retained. Something that does not really measure up is the facial animations, simply because there do not seem to be any - the characters have the same bored expression whether they are hiding in a freezer or getting a chainsaw through their stomach. Hopefully it's just because the game is not finished yet. We have not received a release date yet, but the trailer at least reveals that the game will be released sometime in 2023 for Playstation 4/5, PC and Xbox Series X / S, and also included in Game Pass.

Diablo Immortal now has the worst user ratings on the entire Metacritic
Diablo Immortal is the biggest launch in the series history, according to Blizzard. But that does not stop it from also being shrouded in controversy and disappointment. Although many people like the game, there are also many who do not take the game's micro-transactions lightly, as they think it goes over the limit of what is decent even in a free to play game. This led to the game shortly after its release becoming the Blizzard title with the worst user rating (0.5 out of 10) on Metacritic, but now it has set an even more depressing record. The average rating from users is currently 0.3, which makes it the PC game with the lowest rating on the entire site, while it shares the last place with Madden NFL 21 if you count all platforms. The thousands of reviews are full of zero points, and the focus of the complaints is of course the microtransactions. Although the game does not deserve the award as the world's worst, it's obvious that Blizzard has been deaf in the implementation of the game's revenue generation. As an example , the Twitch streamer Quin69 spent the equivalent of SEK 66,000 in the game without getting anything of real value.

New Blood is a Fallout-like role-playing game - familiar names develop
During the non-E3 week, lots of games were announced, many of which first disappeared under the radar. But every thing has its time, and now we can tell about New Blood , a Fallout -like role-playing game from some of the brains behind Fallout , Van Buren and Planescape: Torment . The studio is aptly named New Blood Interactive, and they reportedly work on several titles in parallel. But perhaps most interesting is New Blood , a game that CEO Dave Oshry of PC Gamer described as "his dream game". The game is retrofuturistic and has an isometric game view. Just like Fallout then. Among those involved, we find Adam Lacko, who was behind much of the Van Buren , which was supposed to be the actual Fallout 3 (before Bethesda took over). Alexander Berezin was behind much of the graphics and aesthetics of famous Fallout mods (see an example above). Composer Mark Morgan is also on the train - you've probably heard his music in the Fallout games, Planescape: Torment and Inxiles Wasteland sequel, to name a few titles. Platforms and release dates are not announced.

Dark Colony: The Council Wars (Win) [Support Topic]
Dark Colony: The Council Wars (Win) Earth is hungry, cold, and cramped; its peoples need food, energy, and new frontiers. The Pleidans (called the Grays by Earthlings, and familiar to anyone hanging around Roswell 50 years ago), a race which apparently specializes in genetic manipulation, have troubles of their own; genetic experimentation gone awry apparently decimated their culture, and they're struggling to rebound. That was the main (and largely forgettable) premise from the original Dark Colony. Council Wars, which requires the original Dark Colony to be installed, adds 16 additional missions that once again pits Grays against Earthlings in canned missions. There’s also the regular stuff you’d expect to find in an expansion pack, such as adding new units, new buildings or environments. Novel environments include an alien fortress or Area 51. Also new is a third neutral species that you can capture and use to your own nefarious goals. File Information Submitter [[Template core/front/global/userLink is throwing an error. Dark Colony (Win) [Support Topic]
Dark Colony (Win) Dark Colony wasn’t breaking new grounds with its formulaic mechanics or hackneyed humans vs. aliens plot. These initial clues alone suggest a derivative, mediocre effort that's hardly worth playing. Surprisingly, though, the clues are misleading. While Dark Colony is indeed derivative, a little closer examination reveals enough differences from the standard RTS mold to set it apart as a passable gaming experience. Dark Colony's premise is simple: while terraforming Mars for colonization, humanity hits a roadblock in the form of bug-eyed, tabloid-style aliens. These aliens (called the Taar) are looking for a few good worlds to call their own, and don't want any pesky humans underfoot. The result, naturally, is full-scale war. While the futuristic setting of Dark Colony suggests a Command & Conquer clone, Dark Colony is modeled very closely on Warcraft II. Like Warcraft II, Dark Colony features a relatively small selection of combat units (only ten per side) for the player to build. Whether you choose to play the humans or the aliens, a commander appears in every campaign mission. This commander is the only unit that is transferred from one mission to the next. He gains experience as he racks up kills, and thereby increases both his rank and abilities. He can inspire nearby troops to make them fight better, and can occasionally call for reinforcements. When the commander is reduced to dangerously low health, he's beamed away to safety so you needn't worry about losing the mission just because your commander got killed. Some players will be disappointed with the relative lack of unit variety, both in terms of sheer numbers and in the fact that both sides units are mirror images of one another. This is a definite downside, but on the other hand, it allows the game to be balanced very finely. For better or worse, Dark Colony chooses to stick with Warcraft II's simple elegance and adds only a few legitimate innovations. The formula stays largely intact, save for a radical change of scenery and a few welcome improvements. File Information Submitter [[Template core/front/global/userLink is throwing an error.
