Following last week's Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv-based GSC Game World has halted the development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The company says in a video that it helps the employees and their families to survive, and that the game development must be set aside.

The video begins with sequences from motion capture recordings to the game, but soon turns to showing clips from the war. It ends with the promise that work on the game will continue "after the victory". The film, which can be perceived as unpleasant, can be seen on Youtube.

Stalker 2 has a release date of December 8th. But far more important than a release date for a game is that the war ends.
