Ubisoft teases a multiplayer-focused Assassin's Creed
There was a lot of Assassin's Creed news during Ubisoft's Showcase. In addition to Assassin's Creed: Mirage and lots of other things, Ubisoft also teased a multiplayer-oriented Assassin's Creed. The game is codenamed Invictus and Marc-Aleix Coté said:
“The reasoning behind having a multiplayer initiative as well is I feel Assassin’s Creed can branch into different channels. We’ve only scratched the surface of what we can do with the Animus with Assassin’s Creed. We’ve had multiplayer in the past but that was not super accessible.
“How can we expand upon that to have something that’s more approachable, more mass market and use this knowledge that we’ve had on games like For Honor and Rainbow Six to have a fun experience that leverages the franchise.
It is unclear what exactly this will be about. But if the game is being developed by people who worked on For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege , is it likely to be some kind of team or solo assassin PVP? The game will be part of the Assassin's Creed hub Infinity (which was also announced during Ubisoft's Showcase).
