Winaero Tweaker is a freeware app created by myself, Sergey Tkachenko. It is an all-in-one application that comes with dozens of options for fine-grained tuning of various Windows settings and features.
It also includes most options which were available in free standalone apps at Winaero.com and extends them as much as possible.
This web site is a new home for the app. It is ads-free, scripts-free, and web tracking-free.

Chromium is a tabbed window manager or shell for the internet rather than a browser application. The project has avoided putting unnecessary things into the User Interface to make a more intuitive, user-friendly experience.
The tab is the equivalent of a desktop application's title bar; the frame containing the tabs is a convenient mechanism for managing groups of those applications. In the future, there may be other tab types that do not host the standard browser toolbar.

Many free and Open Source text editors are available, but some are simple, some are complex, and some fill a niche. Few, however, cross over into doing it all with a very usable interface.
When you first start up Kate, you will see it's not rocket science. You're presented with a simple interface that lets you start typing immediately. However, as your eyes move around, you will notice various settings in a few different places around the edges as well as a ribbon-style toolbar at the top. You know you're onto something different here at this point.
Kate has a split-mode window feature that can be used horizontally or vertically. It can also have multiple sessions and supports plug-ins. It also has encoding support, the ability to open files on a network, and is scriptable. Bookmarks are available for all your documents, and line numbers are always visible. Opera One (currently early-access developer version) is a completely redesigned browser, planned to replace the flagship Opera Browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux later this year. Based on the principles of Modular Design, Opera One transforms browser interaction, delivering a liquid navigation experience that’s more intuitive.

TightVNC is a free remote desktop control software package that allows you to log in and use a remote machine's desktop just as if it were your own.
Tight VNC has a handy tool for both tech support and education. Saving time, money, and sometimes - frustration. Another great use is to run it on your home machines so you can securely check your items when you are away.
Like other Virtual Networking Clients, Tight VNC has two parts that you need to know: The Server and the Viewer. The Server shares the screen it is running on, and the Viewer connects controls the server. This means the machine you want to connect to must have the server-side installed in it first. You then connect to that server by typing the IP address of the device you have installed the server on. From there, it is as easy as running your machine.
Some routers may give you fits trying to configure the ports correctly, so TightVNC Server also contains a small webserver. This server listens for incoming HTTP connections on the 5800 port. You can change that to whatever you like.

App Notes
Passwords Not Saved Between PCs By Default: Google Chrome stores passwords in such a way that they are encrypted in a way tied to current PC. While the passwords are not kept or left behind on the PC itself, they won't be retrievable when you move to a new PC. There is added password portability as an advanced option, though, which you can enable by reading the help.html file.
Certificates Not Portable: Google Chrome has no certificate manager. It uses Windows' certificates manager. So, any certificates you install through the Google Chrome interface are stored on the current local machine and will not travel with you. Thus, you should not use any private certificates with Google Chrome except on your own PC.
Some Settings/Extensions Locked Per PC: Google Chrome locks specific settings to a given PC. Details are included in this post. This behavior is by design by the Chrome team. If you would like this changed, please file a bug with the Chrome team. A suggested workaround is to sign in to Google to restore all settings and extensions and to use an extension such as Session Buddy to maintain your session state as you move PCs.
Note that other portable browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition do not have any of the issues mentioned above. These issues are specific to Chrome due to Chrome's design and not something we can work around without fixes to the base app by the Chrome developers.
