Duke's back for an official encore. Available in two flavors, the Plutonium Pack add-on for the original or the full fledged Atomic Edition, both come with Duke Nukem 3D version 1.4 and a bonus episode entitled "The Birth". It takes you through another eleven action packed levels which serve to remind us why the original was so good to begin with. New enemies, varied locations, one bonus weapon (the “Enlarger” – basically a reversed Shrinker) and the same hectic action of DN3D means there’s lots of cool alien blasting to be had here.
The Atomic Edition’s bonus episode has Duke going through a variety of amusing locales, some paying homage to such movies as Mission: Impossible, Alien and Independence Day. These levels carry weight since they were actually created by the guys at 3D Realms. The levels are very fun too, and show some very keen use of the Build engines ability to create floors over floors. But just the general hilarity and the themepark feel of it all is enough to pick it up.
Also included with this pack is the official Duke Nukem screen saver, jigsaw puzzles and desktop themes, and, as part of the Build Engine 1.4, the Duke tag multiplayer game, wherein you and your fellow Dukers try to tag certain parts of their opponents side of the level all the while blowing up enemy teammates and avoiding getting yourself blown up in the process. There are a couple of new monsters (including a devilishly tough Alien-lookalike), a new Alien Queen end boss whom you’ll face in an underwater lair, and plenty of new textures and landscapes.
This upgrade should be appealing to those who enjoy using the Build editor because of the new textures and weather effects. Overall, these levels are solid and tough as well as incredibly funny. Suffice to say, if you're a Duke fan, then you'll probably want to pick up the Atomic Edition.

FIFA 98 is already a classic game, surprising to this day with its craftsmanship, which surpasses many later parts of the FIFA series. By many, FIFA 98 is considered to be the most complete and best balanced game in the series. It is possible to play both a friendly match and league mode, and the biggest draw of this part is definitely Road to the World Cup. On the way to the World Cup, you play for the team from the first qualification to the main tournament using different systems in different parts of the world. This game contains 16 different outdoor stadiums. There are 189 clubs and 11 leagues in the League game. Each team has specific crowd songs incorporated into the surrounding sound. In the game are all the teams that then fought in qualifiers on all continents of our Earth. You can play for the Solomon Islands, for example, and fight your way through the qualifiers to the tournament itself. Finally, the offside rule is correctly implemented, artificial intelligence has been improved and a player editor has been included. The crowds in the stadiums have different announcements in their own languages, while players have different faces and hairstyle styles. For the first time in the series, a licensed soundtrack with the many popular bands such as Blur.

OpenRA is a project that recreates and modernizes the classic Command & Conquer real time strategy games. We have developed a flexible open source game engine (the OpenRA engine) that provides a common platform for rebuilding and reimagining classic 2D and 2.5D RTS games (the OpenRA mods).
This means that OpenRA is not restricted by the technical limitations of the original closed-source games: it includes native support for modern operating systems and screen resolutions (including Windows 10, Mac OS X, and most Linux distros) without relying on emulation or binary hacks, and features integrated online multiplayer.
While we love the classic RTS gameplay, multiplayer game design has evolved significantly since the early 1990’s. The OpenRA mods include new features and gameplay improvements that bring them into the modern era:
A choice between “right click” and classic “left click” control schemes Overhauled sidebar interfaces for managing production Support for game replays and an observer interface designed for streaming games online The “fog of war” that obscures the battlefield outside your units’ line of sight Civilian structures that can be captured for strategic advantage Units gain experience as they fight and improve when they earn new ranks OpenRA is 100% free, and comes bundled with three distinct mods. When you run a mod for the first time the game can automatically download the original game assets, or you can use the original game disks. Tiberian Dawn
An alliance of nations fights to protect Europe and northern Africa from a mysterious terrorist organization and the valuable but toxic alien mineral, Tiberium, that is slowly spreading over the world.
The Tiberian Dawn mod focuses on fast and fluid play, taking heavy influences from modern RTS games.
Red Alert
In a world where rainbow was assassinated and the Third Reich never existed, the Soviet Union seeks power over all of Europe. Allied against this Evil Empire, the free world faces a Cold War turned hot.
The Red Alert mod focuses on strategy, providing a range of units and tactics to conquer the land, sea, and air.
Dune 2000
Three great houses fight for the precious spice melange.
He who controls the spice controls the universe!
Establish a foothold on the desert planet Arrakis, where your biggest threat is the environment.
The Dune 2000 mod currently focuses on providing an experience that is authentic to the original game.

The game consist 30 neighborhood kids from which the gamer can choose to play. Players take a managerial role by creating a team of different players to compete against opponents. In this first installment in the Backyard Sports series, the player's goal is to assemble a team of backyard kids and take them all the way to the championship - in this instance, the Ultra Grand Championship of the Universe. While not carrying an official Major League Baseball license, the game does contain 30 kids to assemble a custom team, as well as 10 fields for them to play in. The team's name, colors, and mascot can be defined, as well as its batting order and field positions.
Each kid has ratings in running, batting, fielding, and pitching, as well as personality quirks that can either be a help - or a nuisance - to the team. Good pitching and hitting can give a team the power-ups it needs to go all the way through the 14-game season and playoffs - as well as plenty of practice in exhibition games or batting practice. In addition, the stats throughout the season can be printed, as well as player baseball cards, photos, schedules, and the trophies the team earned.

The Jack Nicklaus series of golf games adds several new features and updates. A new MouseMeter control system is designed to feel more like real golf than the more traditional 2-click and 3-click systems which are also provided. The action can be viewed from anywhere on the course, although some views are more suited to action replays than actually taking aim or playing a shot. Ball lies are not always flat in this edition.
This one offers nine Jack Nicklaus courses and a specially created course for the game that is similar to Pebble Beach, as well as an online facility to download over 100 more. CBS' Gary McCord provides a running commentary. The course includes a number of 3D golfers that the player controls. The course designer, a mainstay of the series, has been enhanced for this version.

Her friend Marco is in possession of a giant hand, and it looks like that hand is responsible for the sabotage. Now, Zanthia must save Kyrandia before everything else vanishes without a trace.
Hand of Fate is the second installment in the Kyrandia series. The gameplay is similar to that of the previous game. Fallout is a role-playing game that utilizes a character development system called S.P.E.C.I.A.L., an acronym formed from the first letters of the game's basic character attributes: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck. In addition to having these attributes, the protagonist can also learn and improve skills, as well as acquire traits and perks.
Skill points are awarded when the player character levels up; traits are assigned during character creation, while perks are obtained every three character levels. There are eighteen different skills in the game, divided into combat, active, and passive categories. Combat skills include weapon proficiencies (e.g. small and big guns, melee, etc.); active skills are used for support or interacting with the environment (doctor, lockpick, science, steal, and others); passive skills are mainly dedicated to social interaction (barter, speech, gambling, and so on). Traits bestow various benefits upon the character while also imposing penalties; in contrast, perks are purely beneficial. By developing and customizing attributes, skills, traits and perks, the player is granted a considerable freedom in shaping the protagonist in his combat-related and social behavior.
The game has an open world which can be freely explored from the onset. Only a few quests are required to complete in order to advance the main plot; a vast amount of side quests is available. Thanks to the game's emphasis on social interaction, many problems can be solved in a non-violent way; in fact, it is possible to complete the game without engaging in battles at all, running away from enemy encounters and concluding the final confrontation in a relatively peaceful fashion. Conversely, the player can opt for a destructive path, killing everyone in sight. A Karma system is used to track the player's moral decisions during the game.
Combat in Fallout is turn-based. Participants have a limited amount of action points (AP) per turn; each action (including movement) depletes a certain number of AP, eventually ending a character's turn. The player can target specific body parts of enemies during battles. Characters may join the protagonist, traveling together and participating in combat as a party. Though the player may assign general commands to the companions, their actions are controlled by the AI, and they cannot be customized.

If you want a famous point of comparison with Alien Legacy, that would be Outpost. Those of you who have played through 4x games probably know what it’s all about. But believe it or not, Alien Legacy is actually even more stressful and harder to get into than Outpost, which was no walk in the park either. It can go the point that the game feels more like a job than an actual game. The game has three distinctive parts: global strategy, colony management and searching planets.
The strategy mostly involves sending out ships to new planets to colonize. Research is powered by “research points” in different categories, e.g. biology or math, which are gathered when searching sectors. By using those points the player gets different technologies of various use like more productive mines or a better range for space ships. Lastly the colonies are viewed from a top-down perspective. Here the player constructs up to 16 buildings to produce resources or space ships. Those buildings have to be maintained or can be upgraded/replaced with the newest research achievements. Every colony also needs a steady number of people, material and robots.
Perhaps the main reason why the game isn’t all that fun is because of the mundane nature of the taks you have to undertake in order to run your empire. You can decide where to build factories, but this is mundane since you can place them anywhere. What’s more, the action sequences, where you fly a small probe around looking for minerals, is neither fun nor pretty to look at.

Divide by Zero's third adventure release is an uneven space opera that has interesting puzzles and plot-- marred by a huge amount of gratuitous violence and prafanity that may turn many players off.
Played in the third person through an extremely linear path, Orion's plot revolves around your character's investigation of the death of his son at a research station in deep space. Other, more farfetched (or derivative) plot elements come into play later in the game.
Much of the backstory is provided in a nifty little graphic novel packaged with the game, entitled "Devlin's Story". Other information, as well as comprehensive installation notes, are included in a well-presented game manual. Even with these aids, however, it was difficult to free up enough low DOS memory to run the game with sound card support. Orion does not identify how much free memory it requires, so there may be some trial and error in fine-tuning the game for best operation. To allow the game to run in less conventional memory, several command-line switches are suggested, which apparently display the screens at a slightly-lower resolution and offer automatic (but slow) scrolling at the screen edges.
The point-and-click user interface performs satisfactorily, with hotspots identified on the screen and possible object interactions displayed with the right mouse button. This "giveaway" of information on how you can act upon objects may make the game puzzles rather predictable and easy. On the other hand, you may find yourself spending the majority of gameplay merely moving your character from one station destination to another - often a very time-consuming process since no "zip" mode or shortcuts have been provided and access points seem arbitrarily restricted from each other. We'll suspend our disbelief about the amount of gravity on a 10-acre asteroid.
Despite some good puzzles, the game is chock-full of completely-gratuitous profanity. If you're offended by that or simply don't see it as adding anything to the atmosphere of an adventure game, then you might want to avoid The Orion Conspiracy altogether. There are also a few mildly-graphic scenes of animated violence, which, together with the language, seriously hampers what enjoyment you can get out of it. Beware!

After successfully graduating from the Hermetic Academy, the young magician Cornelius returns to his uncle Lucan, with whom he wants to continue his studies. However, his uncle's lab is mysteriously abandoned. Cornelius therefore decides, in a flying machine and with the help of the raven Hermes, to find Lucan. The young magician "lands hard" on the island of Avalon and encounters enemy magicians there. The next chapter of the story is up to the player. From an isometric point of view, you control the magician Cornelius, who with his spells must defeat all enemy mages on the map and complete all important tasks. Magical energy is rare, so there are portals on the map that complement the mana when cast. Magic & Mayhem contains an original magic system from ingredients. Cornelius has several spell slots, divided into good, neutral and evil. Each ingredient in a given slot will produce a different effect. You can mix spells between locations as needed. Over time, you can improve your character for the experience gained, you only gain by completing tasks.

If you played computer games and loved cartoon adventures in the 90's, LucasArts Entertainment Company is definitely not unknown to you. This company in computer games is famous for beautiful adventures with an always excellent story and good control. One would think that cartoon adventures are games that were only popular in the 90's, but in 2002 LucasArt tried to change this mindset and came up with the great game Full Throttle. In this game you play as the rough biker Ben, the leader of the motorcycle gang Polecats (tchori). Although the graphics look cute, painted at first glance, the game is not intended for the little ones, because the harsh, slang language of the motorcycling environment is used here. At the same time, the amount of humor used is typical for rhu, both in the dialogues and in the story itself. From this short description it follows that the adventure is really top notch, but at the same time it is intended for a very specific group of players. If you didn't like the game, it may be because it's intended for other players. The only negative I found in this game was its length - or rather its shortness.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a 1999 survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom for the PlayStation. It is the third game in the Resident Evil series and takes place almost concurrently with the events of Resident Evil 2. The player must control former elite agent Jill Valentine as she escapes from a city that has been infected by a virus. The game uses the same engine as its predecessors and features 3D models over pre-rendered backgrounds with fixed camera angles. Choices through the game affect how the story unfolds and which ending is achieved.
Resident Evil 3 was developed concurrently with Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and was originally conceived as a spin-off featuring a different protagonist, before being promoted as the last numbered Resident Evil game for the PlayStation. It was designed to have a more action-oriented gameplay than its predecessors and features a larger number of enemies for the player to defeat. It also introduces Nemesis, a creature that periodically pursues the player throughout the game and that was inspired by the T-1000 Terminator from the 1991 film Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Accompanied by a major marketing campaign, Resident Evil 3 received very positive reviews from critics and sold more than three million copies worldwide. Critics praised the game's detailed graphics and Nemesis as an intimidating villain, but some criticized its short length. Shortly after its release on the PlayStation, Resident Evil 3 was ported to Windows, Dreamcast and GameCube with varying degrees of critical success. In particular, the GameCube version was criticized for its relatively high retail price and outdated graphics.

Every year, a mysterious man named Calypso sends e-mails to renowned drivers, inviting them to compete in a tournament called Twisted Metal. The conditions of the tournament are anything but ordinary: opponents fight each other in armored vehicles with mounted weapons. The winner receives an audience with Calypso, and is granted a single wish - a wish without limits, be it money, power, or even our reality itself. In 2005, the annual tournament is held again in Los Angeles, and twelve drivers, each with his own agenda, have come to compete to death.
Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat game. The player selects one of the twelve available drivers and takes part in the competition. In the one-player story mode, the player must progress through six combat stages; all the opponents must be destroyed in order to win the race. In the two-player co-op mode, players choose a battlefield and control two cars in an attempt to get rid of the competition.
All the vehicles are equipped with two mounted machine guns; though relatively weak, they have unlimited ammunition. Other weapons can be picked up by driving over them during the races. These include fire and homing missiles, land mines, tire spikes, and others. Each participant has a life bar, which can be replenished by entering a specific area on the stage.

After an era of political unrest in the early 21st century, the world's leaders have fallen and natural resources have been depleted. This results in the downfall of the world economy and leads to a series of bloody conflicts in a world where the less fortunate strive for survival and live for one reason.... illegal racing.
In StateShift, racing machines with highly advanced morphing abilities compete in illegal underground races around the world. Drivers go one on one with up to fifteen racers across nine tournaments. The titular stateshifts refer to special power-ups the player can unlock. With names such as «Dragster», «Ghost», «Mamouth» and «Scorch», they can be used to drive faster or take corners more sharply, but require picking up energy cells on the tracks to recharge. The game has various modes including Career Mode to unlock new tournaments, tracks, characters and stateshifts, Time Trial, Challenges, Quick Race and various tutorials. The game also has a multiplayer mode via Wi-Fi.
