Amazon Studios has launched a new Blade Runner series, with Ridley Scott as executive producer. Scott may also direct some episodes. The series takes place 50 years after Blade Runner 2049, and will thus be called Blade Runner 2099, according to Deadline.

The series should reportedly have high priority, and want to get the series out as soon as possible. The series is still in the script stage, but Amazon have started looking at possible dates for the start of production.

There is no release date yet - not so strange considering the still early stage.
