In Republic of Pirates we get to build and take care of our own settlement among turquoise waters and swaying palm trees, and it's been out since a few days ago on PC. There is also a demo to test, so raise your flag and take it for a test ride.

Here there is a resource-based economy to consider as well as diplomatic relations to nurture, but when the words are spoken, real-time sea battles can also be resorted to. To help with that, you must recruit and upgrade well-known pirate captains, so they can use their abilities to liberate islands and defeat other factions.

There are eight different ship types to take advantage of, and you can also customize them with various emblems and cosmetic details. The game has a campaign of around 30 hours, but you can also play in a free mode where you can adjust various settings and play a little as you like.
