The gaming season begins in earnest in October with multiplayer titles such as "Overwatch 2" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" or story-driven adventures such as "A Plague Tale: Requiem" and "New Tales From The Borderlands". We at MovieZine have put together a list of the most interesting titles.
Here are the seven hottest games you can get in October 2022.
Overwatch 2
After six successful years with the team-based first-person shooter "Overwatch" and heroes such as Tracer, D.Va and Brigitte, it's time for the sequel, "Overwatch 2" , which unlike its predecessor will be free to play.
Among other things, the game boils down the teams from six to five players, removes the controversial loot boxes in favor of a paid Battle Pass with different levels to unlock and some new characters - like Sojourn, Junkie Queen and Kiriko.
The game will also feature a story-driven mission mode where you get to choose from a selection of heroes based on events in Overwatch history, as well as missions where you fight hordes of enemies alongside your friends.

A Plague Tale: Requiem
Following the events of the first game from 2019, "A Plague Tale: Requiem" continues the story of siblings Amicia and Hugo de Rune in their search for a cure for their little brother's illness in the south of France, while escaping from the soldiers of the Inquisition and hordes of plague-infected rats.
As before, it revolves a lot around stealth, where Amicia can use knives to slash her enemies, throw rocks with a sling, and shoot with a crossbow. Coupled with Hugo's ability to sense the location of enemies through walls and control rats, it sounds incredibly exciting.
However, the rats are not always your friends, as you have to stay away from the dark to avoid being eaten by the little rodents. However, you can use them to solve puzzles and kill enemies. This sounds like an interesting adventure that is both emotional and purely game-mechanically interesting.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
When Ubisoft created the crazy and slightly annoying rabbits in the game "Rayman Raving Rabbids", which became a huge phenomenon (reminiscent a lot of Minions), not many people expected that they would team up with none other than Super Mario in a really good game in the form of "Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle".
Now comes the sequel "Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope" , where the jumping plumber and his friends once again join forces with a group of rabbids in tactical battles. This time, a creature called Cursa has spread dark matter across the world in search of so-called Sparks, which have created chaos in the galaxy. This time you also get help from the villain Bowser.
The game mechanics are also slightly reworked with less linear courses and more free-form combat, where you can run around and do more things in real time. As a big fan of the first really charming adventure, this could be really good.

New Tales From The Borderlands
"New Tales from the Borderlands" builds on the concept of its predecessor, where we saw a more story-driven interpretation of the "Borderlands" universe. This time it is Gearbox themselves who are responsible for the development, not Telltale Games.
The game takes place three years after the events of "Borderlands 3", when the weapons manufacturer Tediore has invaded the planet Promethea. Here you get to play as the scientist Anu, her street smart brother Anu and the yoghurt shop owner Fran - all three of whom have to deal with the invaders, monsters and criminals in different ways.
As before, it's a lot about exploring your surroundings, making decisions that affect the plot and surviving cinematic sequences. If it's as good and funny as its predecessor, we have something to look forward to.

Gotham Knights
In Gotham Knights , young superheroes Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin keep the streets safe after Batman's death in an action role-playing game set in an open Gotham City where you can play as the four.
Here we can expect to fight against classic villains such as The Penguin, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze and Clayface, either alone or with other players. They also come into contact with the Court of Owls, a secret society as old as the city.
The game is made by Warner Bros Montreal who previously made "Batman: Arkham Origins", so we can expect similar game mechanics.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
In "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II", we revisit the operators of Task Force 151 after the US military kills a general in another country, which leads them to seek revenge in a big way. It's up to the group to stop them, in a mission that takes place across the globe.
Developed by Infinity Ward, the game is a sequel to its 2019 predecessor (not to be confused with the two previous "Modern Warfare" games from the 10s). Like previous parts, it looks like it can deliver a real action-packed blockbuster adventure with a lot of shooting and cool game sequences.
For those who like multiplayer, there are of course also a number of different multiplayer modes.

Bayonetta 3
Six years after its predecessor was released on Wii U, the curmudgeon and cocky witch is back in "Bayonetta 3" , where we once again see series creator Hideki Kamiya as executive director.
Along with both old and new friends (such as alternate versions of herself), Bayonetta must confront and defeat the mysterious creatures Homonculi, to prevent multiple worlds from being destroyed by an evil entity.
For those who think there is too much nudity during cutscenes and battles, there is a so-called "Naive Angel Mode", which makes Bayonetta wear more clothes, as well as toning down the more graphic designs on enemies and demons.
