Floorp is a free and open-source web browser based on Mozilla Firefox. It keeps Firefox’s Gecko engine and extension ecosystem, but adds a much heavier focus on customization and productivity.

Some of its built-in features include vertical and multi-row tabs, workspaces, split-screen browsing, web panels, mouse gestures, web apps and extensive interface customization.

Pros

  • Extremely customizable compared with standard Firefox.

  • Supports Firefox extensions and much of the familiar Firefox ecosystem.

  • Built-in workspaces make separating gaming, work, social media or other browsing sessions easy.

  • Split View can display multiple websites inside the same browser window.

  • Sidebar web panels are useful for things like Discord, messaging, music or reference pages.

  • Open source and available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

  • Privacy-conscious while still allowing the user considerable control over how the browser behaves.

Cons

  • All those options can make Floorp feel a little overwhelming if you just want a simple browser.

  • It is maintained by a much smaller project than Firefox, Chrome or Edge, so development resources are naturally more limited.

  • Some Floorp-specific features can occasionally introduce quirks that you wouldn't encounter in plain Firefox.

  • Mobile support is still limited. As of 2026, the official Floorp site lists its iOS version as being tested through TestFlight.

Overall, Floorp is an interesting choice for people who like Firefox but keep thinking, “I wish I could customize this thing a lot more.” It feels a little like Firefox being handed a toolbox and told to go wild.
