  • Welcome to the new site. New looks, more of a classic retro vibe. I am working on moving content from the old site to here. Many things will not be directly moved and will be added slowly over time. Such as downloads and images. The old site and its content will be available from beta.throneofgeeks.com for a while. Furthermore I have decided to completely get rid of ads as it only slows down the site. If you want to support what I do and the free internet you can buy me a coffee. Thanks! //Sirmadsen

Licenses

What do the licenses mean?

It can mean one of two things:

1: The program or app runs advertisements (ads) in some way.
2: The program or app may include PUP’s (potentially unwanted programs)

This is a way of protecting you from software that isn’t truly freeware, so you can watch the installation carefully for unwanted third-party programs that might try to install. Sometimes it's as simple as a company advertising their other products, and it can be as bad as potentially unwanted programs (PUP's) you need to watch for during installation.

The “License” field is to give you a heads-up about what you are downloading. We let you know what it is in one of 4 ways:

1: Freeware. This means it’s free.
2: Open Source: Free plus anyone can download the source code and modify it to their liking.
3: Shareware: Typically a restricted program that requires purchasing to unlock all features.
4: Ad-Supported: Advertising supported or third party (additional) software included.

Always question what you download from the internet. Scan the files with your antivirus software or use a online solution like Virustotal.

Stay safe
