  1. Earlier this year we found out that Sony is working with Netflix on a series based on the Horizon games. We weren't given a lot of information at the time, but gaming journalist Jeff Grubb claimed shortly thereafter that the series was then called Horizon 2074 and is meant to run parallel to the games, rather than being a reinterpretation, sequel, or prequel. We don't know what the situation is with these details, as they are only rumors, but now we have received a small piece of very significant information. According to an interview with Netflix, Steve Blackman - executive producer of The Umbrella Academy - will lead the production of the series. When asked what he is most looking forward to in the story, he answers the well-developed world and the fantastic characters, and above all confirms that Aloy is the main character in the Netflix series as well. We don't have any dates to go on at the moment, and it will probably be a while before filming even starts.
  2. The rumors has once again blossomed, and this time in South Korea. It is the MTN (Korean) news site that reports that they have spoken to an insider who states that Ncsoft and Sony are discussing an MMORPG set in the Horizon world. In that case, the development would be handled by an internal team at Ncsoft, but the project still seems to be in its infancy and the company is now recruiting people. Ncsoft themselves say that they do not want to comment on unannounced projects that are under development, so the whole thing should of course be taken with a pinch of salt. Ncsoft has proper experience in the MMO genre, with games like Guild Wars, Lineage and Aion on the track record. They are also known for a long series of controversies and incidents, not least involving Ultima creator Richard Garriot, who was forced to leave the company under questionable circumstances and then successfully sued it for over $30 million.
