Sony erases traces of Star Wars: KotOR remake
The trailer was set to "private" on Youtube.

What is happening with the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ? The game shook the internet in September 2021, but since then we've been shaking for other reasons - and now we're shaking again.

Sony seems to be working hard to wash away the traces of the remake. The trailer in Playstation's YouTube channel is set to private. On X/Twitter it is also reported that Sony has taken down all tweets about the game - except for one where it is mentioned together with other games. It does not bode well.

It is not the first time we have seen this. In the summer of 2022, there were rumors that the KotOR remake was on hold, and later it was reported that the developers had changed. As recently as May, Embracer claimed that the game will be released – the same Embracer that closes studios and shuts down games.

Hogwarts Legacy Review
One of those games I would like to give a middle recommendation. There are so many details and you never stop finding secrets and unlocking cosmetics. The fact that you can take your broom and fly all over Hogwarts (almost) is fantastic.

Amazon Games loses another heavy name
In March last year , Mike Frazzini stepped down as head of e-commerce giant Amazon's gaming venture. Now John Smedley, studio head of Amazon Games San Diego for the past six years, is doing the same.

In a letter to employees, according to Bloomberg, Smedley writes that after much thought he decided to try something new. Smedley has previously worked with and for Everquest, Daybreak Games, Sony Online Entertainment and Planetside. In 2015, he stepped down as head of Daybreak, in part after running into controversy with hackers. The following year, he was forced to state that the Kickstarter investment on the hardcore role-playing game Hero's Song failed...

"Avatar 2" is profitable, so be prepared for many more
Ready for new sequels: "Now I know what I'm going to do for the next six, seven years," says James Cameron.

No one is surprised that "Avatar: The Way of Water" attracts a huge cinema audience. But no one is more relieved than James Cameron himself because it was never clear that the audience's interest would rekindle after 13 years. We've been waiting a long time for this sequel - but it delivers, already grossing over $1.5 billion in just a few weeks.

Francis Ford Coppola's dream project "Megalopolis" is barely halfway through and the recording is so chaotic that it may have to be stopped. It oozes "Apocalypse Now" a long way in terms of production.
In a short time, Coppola's upcoming sci-fi "Megalopolis" has lost a lot of key people and several employees have reportedly been fired.

Bethesda support confirms - Starfield will be released in the first half of the year
It was recently rumored that Arkane's co-op vampire game Redfall has been pushed back a few weeks due to unspecified issues. It raises concerns that Starfield will also be affected, as both titles will be launched before the end of the year and Redfall will be first. But when Bethesda now threw up a support page for Starfield, it gives reassuring news: it says in black and white that the launch will take place in the first half of 2023.

"Starfield arrives exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC in the first half of 2023.

If Microsoft keeps all planned releases, then Xbox and PC players have a good six months ahead of them, with Starfield, Redfall (rumored for release in May), Forza Motorsport (premiere this spring), the survival sequel Ark 2, the Civilization-like Ara: History Untold and the strategy game Minecraft Legends. All the games shown at Microsoft's big summer show in June were then said to be released within a year

Renner gives the first sign of life from the hospital bed
It looked critical for a while for American actor Jeremy Renner. The condition is still serious, but on Tuesday the star sent a greeting to his fans through Instagram.

On New Year's Day, the star from "Avengers" ran over his own leg with a snow plow outside his home in Reno, Nevada, and suffered serious chest and leg injuries in the accident, writes CNN.

The message on Instagram on Tuesday is the first sign of life from the star.

“Thank you for all the kind words. I'm too ill to write but I send you all my love," the star writes under a picture of himself in the hospital bed, obviously ill with a swollen face filled with cuts and bruises.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm-KZ1YPJe7/

Earlier on Tuesday, Renner's press spokesperson updated more details about the star's health condition. The spokesperson also said that the accident occurred when Renner was plowing snow in the driveway of his house so that his family members could go home after celebrating Christmas together.

According to the spokesperson, Renner's condition is stable and he is slowly improving. He is awake, can communicate and is in good spirits. However, he remains in the intensive care unit for a while longer as his condition is still considered serious but stable.

The accident happened on New Year's morning. Renner's snowplow reportedly started rolling when the star was not at the wheel and he was injured when he tried to get into the plow truck to try to stop it.

According to CNN, Renner used to plow both his driveway and the neighbors' driveways when needed.

He has so far undergone two operations and it is unclear if more will be required.

Duke Nukem is leaking again
The Duke Nukem 3d remake leaks online.

Once again, there has leaked code from a Duke Nukem game. This time it is playable code from Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded which has been found online, and those responsible go under the nick x0r, reports PC Gamer. It's the same nod that last May leaked the Duke Nukem Forever code from E3 2001.

Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded was announced in 2010 under the working name Duke Nukem: Next Gen and would become a remake of the 90s classic, coded by Danish Interceptor Entertainment (now Slipgate Ironworks). But after the pale reception for Duke Nukem Forever in the summer of 2011, Gearbox chose to pause the development of the 3d remake, and that was the end of it.

The now leaked version should contain a couple of paths and a multiplayer mode (which borrows some from UT) against bots. The movie clip shows what it looks like.

This is the third Duke leak since last spring. First, as DNF said in 2001, and a few weeks ago we wrote that the hunting game (japp) Duke Nukem: Endanged Species also appeared online.

New Overwatch 2 players must play 100 matches to unlock the original characters
According to a new blog post on the Overwatch website, new players in Overwatch 2 will have to play 100 matches to unlock all the characters from the original Overwatch game .

The idea is to keep new players from feeling overwhelmed and give them the chance to learn all the modes and characters at their own pace. But it also says this.

This means that these restrictions only exist when it comes to competitive games and not if you run practice matches with family and friends.

Overwatch 2 will be released in Early Access on October 4th and will be completely free to play. Blizzard has promised that the game will have no loot boxes and will have a seasonal format. Season 1 starts on the 4th followed by season 2 starting later in December. There will also be a PVE mode released at a later date, but no date has been set there yet.

Skull and Bones is delayed at the last minute
Well, just when we thought it was finally time, it wasn't time at all. Ubisoft's project Skull and Bones was supposed to be released on November 8, i.e. in just over a month, but now they have announced that this will not be the case. The game is instead postponed until March 9 next year.

On Twitter, they write that the game is actually already finished, but that they received some feedback from technical tests and their insider program, which convinced them that the game needs to be polished and balanced to deliver the best possible experience. More tests will be arranged in the insider program (which you can sign up for here), and they also promise that an open beta test will be organized in the near future.

Skull and Bones is a multiplayer game where the focus is on ship battles and to some extent exploration. However, we will not be able to go ashore wherever we want, but only at certain places.

BHVR ignoring the major problem of hackers in Dead by Daylight
So, this is nothing new by now, that cheaters are a problem in Dead by Daylight. What is sad though is that it's nothing new that Behavior ignores the problem effectively ruining the game for its player base, streamers and content creators. In fact the problem is so bad right now that big name streamers are coming out their silence and recognizing the problem. Streamers like Otzdarva and Spookyloopz, who by the way are in the Fog Whisperer program are now opening up. In the video below (spoiler) you will see Dowsey speaking about the problem and reacting to the mentioned streamers and, he says something that I truly also believe is a step in the right direction...

"Get out of the Fog Whisperer program". I believe this is something they need to do to show to BHVR that their behavior (no pun intended) is not accepted! It's no secret that BHVR are extremely bad at communicating with their community, it's no secret that BHVR lies about what they are doing to prevent cheaters etc., it's no secret that BHVR don't hold back on punishing anyone criticizing the company and the game.

BHVR is not a good company, the developers are not good people, and big name content creators Should Not support them. Play the game for all you want, it is your job, but, get out of any supportive groups/programs being sponsored by BHVR! To quote Dowsey, "Put you money where your mouth are!"

What are your experiences of cheaters in DbD? And what are your thoughts about BHVR?

Park Beyond
With a couple of Might & Magics and Tropico 6 under his belt, Limbic doesn't have a roller-coaster habit, but despite this, there's something obvious about Park Beyond. It feels natural for the Planet Coaster - and Theme Park -experienced to pick up, and in a genre that deals with tricks and tricks, this is a nice plus on the edge.

Count on the old tricks of (literally) salting fries to (figuratively) salt the prices of soft drinks. This and all the other things we recognize are not why Park Beyond attracts. It's the story campaign and making the impossible possible that will make Limbic's funfair ride something more than a trivial Theme Park clone.

The "impossible possible" has a catchy name: Impossification. Something I myself get to squeeze and feel when I build a roller coaster in the middle of a colorful small town. Laying out hills and motion-sickness-inducing curves is exemplary easy, and soon the track is winding through stately parks and over rooftops. This is where Park Beyond takes us beyond the possible.

You can choose between either building a cannon, which shoots the carts through the air to land at breakneck speed on the other side. Or trust nature's own speed and fan laws, and let the carts whiz freely over houses, people and livestock via a downhill slope and a carefully placed "bump".

Dip your management toes into the sandbox mode and "impose" a rather ordinary octopus carousel that is expanded with a deep pool that the visitors repeatedly dip into. Employees can also be "impossified", and Limbic tempts, for example, with mechanics on hoverboards.

Well, it's definitely quite possible that Park Beyond will be really fun. For a very long time Planet Coaster has been a natural choice, only catch with that title is the lack of content and the fact that the developer hide core game mechanics and attractions behind expensive DLC's.

We look forward to see more of Park Beyond and can't wait for the release next year.

Embracer lets in Saudi Arabia as a major owner
No more shopping Embracer titles...

The dictatorship's money pays for 8.1 percent of the shares.

Embracer Group receives 10.3 billion new in their the account. The Swedish Karlstad-based gaming company has released 99.9 million new B shares, which it sold to the Saudi Arabian Savvy Gaming Group. Savvy is funded by the Public Investment Fund, a government fund where the country's controversial crown prince and leader Mohammed bin Salman sits on the board.

The deal gives Savvy 8.1 percent of the shares and 5.4 percent of the votes in Embracer. This makes the Saudi company one of the largest owners behind founder Lars Wingefors, who at the turn of the year held 24.2 percent of the company's shares and just over 43 percent of the votes.

Embracer CEO and founder Lars Wingefors:

Savvy was formed at the beginning of the year and immediately hit the headlines by buying Dreamhack owner ESL for $13 billion. In May, it became clear that PIF had bought 5 percent of the Japanese gaming giant Nintendo .

Embracer emphasizes in the press release that it wants long-term investments in the company. Savvy invests in entering the gaming and esports community worldwide. But the company's ventures are controversial because the fund that finances the company is controlled by Crown Prince bin Salman, who has been accused, among other things, of ordering the murder of a prominent journalist in 2018. The country has also been criticized for a lack of human rights, both during the crown prince's rule and before.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival game in Tolkien's world
A sigh went through the gaming world when EA announced The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-Earth last month, mainly because it was a mobile game. But more come from Tolkien's world, and whether it's good or bad that it's survival games we leave unsaid.

The game is called The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria , and just as the name suggests, it revolves around a return to the dwarf kingdom of Moria, or Khazad-dûm if you want to be extra intrusive in your nerdiness. Once there, it will be dug, collected, mead drunk and built.

During the course of the action, we will discover ancient landmarks, find veins of mithril and put our hands on one or another weapon - possibly one that glows blue when orcs are close. Dangers lurk in the dark, of course, and if you let too much (so if you are a little Tookig ) they can be awakened. Fortunately, you can not only play alone, but with up to seven other players if you want.

The development is provided by Free Range Games, which has helped to develop games such as Oddworld: Soulstorm and the upcoming The Callisto Procotol , and has developed Spelldrifter . The game is expected to be released in the spring of 2023 for PC.

May the 4th be with you! - Here are all the upcoming Star Wars games
Star Wars interest, like everything else, goes in cycles. We see periods of extreme drought, followed by bombardment, and in between perhaps some sort of semi-squal. Movies as well as TV series and games, all seem to live in some sort of constant treadmill.
