The movie revolves around a classic alien abduction, "greys" with big black eyes, disc shaped saucer UFO's, levitation beams etc. The main character manages to kill one of the aliens and the hunt begins. The movie plays more with slow scare tactics rather than jump scares, gore or fight scenes. The main character spends the better time of the movies runtime of 90 minutes being scared and/or running. There is next to no voice lines in the entire movie, you will hear more heavy breathing than words. Actually, the aliens have more voice lines than all other characters combined, and their language consists of sound effects. The endings is... Well, it's an ending at least and at no point did I feel that the movie was to short. It could have...
An open world space game, except the open open about space is limited to orbiting planets and quick-jumping (loading screen) to other planets, which by the way you don't have to, you can just open the map from anywhere and quick-travel. There's really no need for space at all in this... Space game. It's pretty obvious that it's only there to fill out the genre. But, the game is a Bethesda game through and through. Everything is there from the quirky followers and NPC's to 'open world' transition screens when you enter a building or certain rooms (instances) inside buildings (Open Starfield when?). The talent tree this time around is very well thought through and works really well, as usual you have to do things you want to level up...
One of those games I would like to give a middle recommendation. There are so many details and you never stop finding secrets and unlocking cosmetics. The fact that you can take your broom and fly all over Hogwarts (almost) is fantastic. But... Hogwarts Castle, oh boy, that thing is a detailed beauty and probably why every room is its own zone that needs to be loaded in when you open a door. This results in stutter and light, objects, shadows and people popping in from nowhere. No detail in the world can take away the horrible optimization of every room change inside the castle. In the open world the pop-in problem persists with lights, shadows and characters popping in from nowhere and the open world overall feels empty and boring...
I'm going to start of saying that this movie is a milestone in visual graphics, it is stunning and beautiful as well as impressive. The VFX team and the animators deserve everything coming from this point on. That is where it ends though. Cameron really wanted this movie to be 180+ minutes. The entire story could have been told in 120. It's obvious there's an extra hour or so of scenes just there to show the pretty visuals. The story is outdrawn and there are scenes that could have been completely left out and be told by short clips. The slaughter of all the animals is one of those scenes and a scene I'd rather not have seen. Another thing is when they killed the whale and said this stops human aging and is the only reason why we are...
The Loneliest Boy in the World is a comedy about Oliver, a boy who have been locked up in his home for his entire life with just his mother. When she does and Oliver is at risk to be sent back to a psychiatric hospital unless he finds some friends, he does exactly that. Some circumstances leads to Oliver digging up a dead family to pretend that they are his family. The corpses then come alive and stuff starts happening. The movie is good fun, it’s not to much or to slow. Special effects are you’d expect from this kind of movie. I’m not sure what the intended audience is for so I guess most people. I never felt like I want to stop the movie but then again, I never felt like I can’t. It’s definitely something special. Acting is good...
Black Adam is an assemble of powerful super heroes coming together to fight the bad guys, just so happens Black Adam is a bad guy up until the last 10 minutes when, as in any other movie, the good guys convince the bad guy to be good guy and remember the ones he loved who have died. It's a boring super hero script that have been done over and over. I'm not even going to go into details about the powerful Kent who can see into the future but fails to deliver a single helpful "do this to prevent this" or how in every single fight scene they tear apart the city they're supposed to protect most likely killing hundreds if not thousands of innocent people. The action along with the movies visual effects are good and pretty much non stop...
Halloween Ends is not what you expect it to be. The movie runtime is roughly 90 min and we get to Jason the last 15. Jason is in the movie but they made him a simp, old and general a all around weak dude. Instead the entire movie is about a young man with a tragic history where he accidentally caused a childs death. He meats Jason in the sewers, gets addicted and want to be like Jason but ends up dying anyway. Basically, the writers of this movie made another character the main man, kills him off, introduces the actual main character for 15 minutes and the kills him off. The entire premise of this movie is just so weird, it feels like the writers don't know anything about the Halloween / Jason lore and just wanted to make more of a...
So, I don't even know where to start here. This movie... Was surprisingly fun to watch. In no way was it good, it was so bad it was good. Think Gremlins but with crabs and a little less serious. Visual effects are nothing to bra about but luckily the creators decided to go more practical than visual using suits and minimal CGI. There are a few questionable moments though where you wonder why? Why did they use CGI here when practical would have been better, easier and probably cheaper. Sound effects and music are spot on. The sound effects are funny, especially the sounds and noises the crabs make, at first you wonder "WHAT!?", but after a while you more like "Ooooh, that's funny". But, besides that, this movie delivers. The acting is...
A breath of fresh air from the high tech gadget wielding Batman that Nolan created. This is Batman, the vigilante, not Batman the "I am hundreds of years into the future with my high tech gadgets" super-hero. Robert Pattinson does a excellent job as the caped crusader, the action is spot on and (even though Hollywood influenced) actually somewhat realistic. The runtime of almost three hours doesn't feel to long but still manages to cramp in several villains and a good story. As it is leaps away from Nolans creation, this Batman holds it own and is actually a really good move with good action, a solid script and great action.
Best MMO ever in my opinion, shut down way to early. If it was still around today the population would grow immensely. Wildstar, the MMORPG that changed the genre, and the only MMO I always miss and want to come back to. NCSoft and Carbine Studios need to seriously think about bringing this game back.
