In this year’s edition of FIFA, EA Sports introduced women’s club teams to the game for the first time. The game features Womens Barclays Super League and Division 1 Arkema. It is also planned to release DLC in the form of the Women’s Champions League next year. Now EA announces that they have intentions to continue supporting women’s soccer and will invest a total of 11 million dollars for the purpose, both in the game and in reality.
The set 11 million will be distributed to women’s football via a fund called “Starting XI Fund”, but new women-related DLC material will also be invested in FIFA 23. Next year, EA Sports will also start an internship program aimed at women and its impact in sport. However, this will not be financed by the fund, but there instead partners will be used.
