Earlier this week the remake of the cult classic XIII was released and the user ratings on Steam speak for themselves. Roughly 91 percent of about 500 players give it a thumbs down. It is rare to see such brutally low score on Steam.
Microids and Playmagic have written an open letter to the players. They say that all criticism is heard “loud and clearly”. They lie flat and say that the criticism and disappointment are completely legitimized. They explain, or defend depending on how you choose to see it, the technical condition of the game with the trials that the pandemic has brought. The day one patch has taken longer than desired.
Free material will also be on the way, they promise, with new tracks, more weapons, skins and game modes for local multiplayer.
Beyond the technical condition, the game’s new visual style has also been questioned but seems to stay.
The open letter can be read below.
