The Netflix adaptation of The Witcher books quickly became one of the streaming giants’ biggest successes, and after impressive viewing figures, Netflix quickly placed an order for a second season. Information to Redanian Intelligence says that the streaming service’s confidence in its fantasy flagship has led to the fact that it has now nailed a third season. This is after a third Witcher season has been added to the Writers Guild of America database, so it’s probably only a matter of time before it gets an official announcement.
Geektyrant also notes that insider source Daniel Ritchman has reported that Netflix is also planning spin-off series based on the Witcher world and that one of these series will focus on magicians. These rumors are not carved in stone, so of course taking it all with a pinch of salt does not hurt. The second Witcher season is expected to be released next year.
